Depending on the type of product that needs to be branded, stamps can be made from various materials. For example, for marking parts of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, we use stamps made of alloyed tool steel with their subsequent heat treatment. And for applying the image on paper, for example, the date of manufacture on the labels, we use rubber stamps of various hardness. To stamp wood products by burning, we can use stamps of both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. For hot embossing on the leather we use stamps (clich?s) of ferrous and non-ferrous (bronze, brass) metals.
Obviously steel stamps are the hardest to make, but they are also the most durable. Therefore, we prefer to use stamps from alloyed tool steel with hardening them to a hardness of 57-59 HRC, so the higher price is offset by much higher wear resistance.
